Under the Same Roof: first shooting day
On the 30th of October 2019 in Sofia, Bulgaria, Mono Collective, in co-production with Kinolight, Maxim 15, Mobiton, Concept Studio and Libero 19 started filming the short film Under the Same Roof directed by Simeon Tsonchev. The script is written by Christos Zacharakis, director of photography is Dimitar Nedelchev, production designer is Vanina Geleva and sound designer is Boris Trayanov.
The film brings together on screen the popular in the north of Greece bouzouki musician Panagiotis Chronis and the beloved Bulgarian actor Nikola Dodov. In the supporting roles we are going to see the star of Sofia’s Theatre 199 – the multiple award-winning Iva Todorova, partnering with the unforgettable Alexander Goncharov and the outstanding Emelyne Bukeyeneza from Burundi. The film’s soundtrack features authentic greek rebetiko music.
The production is possible thanks to the Bulgarian National Film Centre. The project has been presented on Drama Pitching Lab on the 42nd Drama International Short Film Festival. The official premiere of Under the Same Roof is expected in the fall of 2020.
